- Facilitating a workgroup to revise and implement phase II of a climbing management plan at Castle Rocks State Park in Idaho. (2004)
- Lobbying in Washington, DC for a revision to the climbing management plan at City of Rocks National Reserve, ID to reopen Twin Sisters. Obtained a Congressional support letter signed by the entire ID delegation in support of multiple use management practices. (2004)
- Provided guidance to climbers from: Kootenai Klimbers and writing letter of support regarding climbing management documents and provided comments to a draft MOU between the Kootenai Klimbers and Post Falls City re climbing at Q’emiln Park around Coeur d’Alene, Idaho. (2004)
- Provided guidance to climbers from: Boise, Idaho regarding developing bouldering areas in an environmentally responsible way. (2004)
- Climbing preservation grants awarded in 2004: Black Cliffs Trail Project, Idaho. Boise Climbers Alliance was awarded a grant to improve climbing access to the Black Cliffs, a local cragging area 15 minutes from downtown Boise. Climbing use has increased over the years, resulting in the proliferation of social trails and serious erosion problems. The BCA will also install several kiosks at key trailheads to inform climbers about the BCA, supporting organizations, the raptor protection plan, and the area’s natural and historic value. (2004)
- Opened Castle Rock State Park, ID. Climbing access to this outstanding area is the result of several years of advocacy and political lobbying by the Access Fund and others. Attended opening ceremony, official attendees also included Idaho Governor Dirk Kempthorne and US Senator Larry Craig. (2003)
- Worked with cultural resource consultants to find positive solutions to protect archaeological and historical values at Castle Rock Ranch (ID) (2003)
- Drafted administrative comments and related advocacy work on management plans for various public land units across the country, including Castle Rocks State Park (ID) (2003)
- Castle Rock State Park, ID. Facilitated a workshop with state park officials, federal agencies and regional climbers and provided comments and other support to develop a climbing management plan for this newly-opened climbing area adjacent to the City of Rocks National Reserve. (2003)
- Produced and distributed an interim educational brochure for recreational users of Castle Rocks State Park and adjacent City of Rocks in Idaho. This educational/informational brochure was supported through partnerships with the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation, The National Park Service, Black Diamond Equipment, Marmot, and The Elephant's Perch.
