03/14/2015 10:00 AM 03/14/2015 01:00 PM Stoney Point Crag Clean Up
Stoney Point, Chatsworth, CA
Saturday, Mar 14, 2015
9am - 1pm

Stoney Point is one of the oldest and most easily accessible sport climbing areas in the region, and provides many opportunities for bouldering, sport top rope, and some traditional free climbing. It is very frequently used by many climbers in the area. However, if you have been there lately, there is an abundance of garbage and it is in a significant state of disrepair. A little TLC would go a long way to making the place more enjoyable again.

Meet at the dirt road next to the horse stables, pick up garbage bags and break out into groups. Clean for a couple hours, enjoy some pizza, and then climb the day away!

Saturday, May 23, 2015 The 3rd Annual Grayson Highlands Bouldering & Stewardship Weekend will take place on Memorial Weekend, the 23rd & 24th of May. This year’s goals for the first day of the event (Sat the 23rd) are to work on a new access trail through the new Back of Beyond area (with 100+ problems & counting), and to continue hardening and protecting landings in other spots in the park. The second day’s goal will be to wash off chalk build up on popular boulders (bring out your water/spray guns for some fun) and to pick up any trash or tape). After 12:00 or 1:00pm, we will all stop working to save enough time for some bouldering at VA’s finest boulderfields. Just as the last two years, GHSP is offering a free night of camping in a reserved hilltop location above the Park Office, and free park entry both days for volunteers. There will a raffle for volunteers on the second day!
