Started in 2008, TeamWorks is the Access Fund’s youth initiative that works to get young climbers outside learning about conservation and stewardship through the Adopt a Crag program. The initiative brings together young climbers, their coaches, community partners, land managers and athlete ambassadors in a grassroots competition to take care of the lands on which we climb. The program aims to teach youth teams about how climbers, the environment and access are all connected, helping them make the transition from indoor gym climbing to responsible outdoor climbers.

How it works
The TeamWorks program is a stewardship-based competition where youth climbing teams from indoor rock climbing gyms host or participate in Adopt a Crag events. Teams are judged by the total volunteer hours in environmental stewardship and compete for cash grants to go toward their youth program. Follow these easy steps to get started:

  1. Register your first event online and your team is automatically registered for the TeamWorks competition
  2. After each event that your team hosts or participates in, fill out a coach's scorecard to add points to your team's total score
  3. Repeat steps one and two to gain the most points!
  4. At the end of the season, the Access Fund will tally all of the team's points to determine the winners
  5. Winning teams get cash grants!
