Staunton State Park Adopt a Crag | Colorado

Event Description:

Join Staunton State Park for an Adopt a Crag at the Never Winter Wall. Volunteers are needed to for trail work including cutting tread, moving rock, raking, and building steps. The group is welcome to stay and climb after. Climbs in the area are mostly sport routes 5.8+ to 5.10d and trad 5.7 and 5.8.

What to bring:
MASK, work gloves, food, water for the day, personal items, sunscreen, rain gear, climbing gear, NO OPEN TOE SHOES, consider long pants. The park will provide tools.

Note on COVID:
Some work requires moving rock in pairs. The park will try pair people who are fully vaccinated or people who live together. Volunteers will need to use masks if working closely with others.

Time:
Meet at 8am MT. The day should wrap up about 5pm MT.

Directions:
US 285 to Elk Creek Road to the Park Entrance, tell Entrance attendant that you are here for the Adopt a Crag/trail day,
Meet at the group picnic area and then the group will drive to the parking area.

Parking:
Volunteers will be parking in an area not open to the public. Your vehicle will be locked in after arriving at 8am until 5pm. If you need leave early, you can leave your car at the main parking area and car pool in, and hike out the 1 1/2 miles.
