Climbers in Quarantine: The Weekly Stoke (3)

Categories: Community

Are we there yet? Are we there yet? Are we there yet? No?….Ok, we’ll just go back to binge-watching climbing videos and trying to find new ways to keep from going soft. On the upside, the majority of the climbing community is CRUSHING IT with #stayathome, and all of us at Access Fund are super proud of your sacrifice. We got this! Now for the good stuff.

COVID-19 Resources for Climbers

We strongly encourage all climbers to help flatten the curve and err on the side of caution. Here's how you can help.

Entertaining Tidbits

There may or may not be a poop theme from this point in The Weekly Stoke forward. Don’t say we didn’t warn you.

  • Like most climbers, Nate Kenney was disappointed that his trips were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Unlike most climbers, he made an epic film about his quarantine adventures: Shred It in Place. Strap in folks, this is not your typical kitchen traverse.

  • Listen to host Chris Kalous go all fan-boy in Enormocast #81 where he interviews the legendary climber (and Access Fund board member), Peter Croft. Hilarious! And a great way to distract yourself during the cardio grind.
  • Mountain Project forums are fertile grounds for entertainment if you’re willing to work for it. Check out 7 Hilarious Times Climbers Called You On Your Sh*t.

Do Good Inspiration

We have ALL the feels this week and are so psyched to see our outdoor industry stepping up to help with the COVID-19 crisis.

Tread Lightly Tip of the Week

So….while we’re on the subject of crapping your pants, don’t you think it’s time to learn how to poop in a bag? Back in the day, it was totally cool to dig a hole and poop in it. But now that climbers outnumber blades of grass at most climbing areas, it’s time to pack it out. We’d be honored to demystify the process for you in this little video.
