Carolina Climbers’ Coalition and Access Fund purchased and protected the Maibauer Boulders in North Carolina. The acquisition secured 32 acres of hardwood forests topped with a compact cluster of high-quality granite boulders within the Brushy Mountains.

House Boulders - Illinois - 2021

Located in the heartland of the country, the House Boulders climbing area sits on the western edge of the Shawnee National Forest in the Mississippi Bluffs region, named for its stunning views over the Mississippi River valley.

The Thumb and Needle - Colorado - 2021

First climbed by the legendary Tom Hornbein in the late 1940s, these two features were later used by Tommy Caldwell as a training ground. The property now offers nearly 50 routes from 5.0 all the way up to 5.13, as well as high-quality bouldering.

Woodcock Cove - Tennessee - 2021

Access Fund and Southeastern Climbers Coalition (SCC) purchased and protected a major new climbing area—Woodcock Cove—in eastern Tennessee. The acquisition and land swap preserves 64 acres of undeveloped land and approximately 60 existing routes, with room for 100-150 more, at all levels.

Ant Lion, Millbrook, Shawangunks - New York - 2020

Access Fund and Gunks Climbers Coalition (GCC) teamed up with neighboring landowners to acquire a new backcountry climbing area along the Millbrook cliff line in the Shawangunks.

Denny's - Colorado - 2020

San Luis Valley Climbers Alliance (SLVCA) and Access Fund secured permanent access to Denny’s, the go-to crag for steep sport climbing in Colorado’s San Luis Valley. In 2015, local climbers approached the private landowners, Denny and Crys Wallace, to ask permission to climb on their property.

Round Top Boulders - North Carolina - 2020

Access Fund worked with CCC to finalize a trail easement with Chimney Rock Village and the Fire Department to establish a trail through the Chimney Rock Village land on Round Top Mountain.
