Stop the Bolt Prohibition Webinar

The National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service recently released draft policies that would—for the first time ever—prohibit fixed anchors (bolts, pitons, and slings) in America’s Wilderness areas, including Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Linville Gorge, and many others. These are complicated proposals, and climbing advocates across the country are asking what's in them and what our community can do about it. Join Access Fund and the American Alpine Club (AAC) for a webinar on Thursday, January 11 at 5pm MT, where we’ll answer these questions and more.

Space for this webinar is limited and registration is required.

Professional climber and AAC board Vice President Nina Williams will moderate a conversation with Access Fund Interim Executive Director Erik Murdock and Senior Policy Advisor Jason Keith. In addition to answering some of the most frequently asked questions we’ve heard from climbers, we’ll answer questions from attendees—just add yours when you register.

If implemented as written, these policies would be a huge blow to climbers. They would threaten America’s climbing legacy and put the safety of our community at risk. Register now to join our discussion of what’s in these proposals and what we can do about it.
