The National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service recently released draft policies that would—for the first time ever—prohibit fixed anchors (bolts, pitons, and slings) in America’s Wilderness areas, including Yosemite National Park, Joshua Tree National Park, Rocky Mountain National Park, Linville Gorge, and many others. These are complicated proposals, and climbing advocates across the country are asking what's in them and what our community can do about it.
