Meet Genevive Walker

Genevive Walker is a professional climber and guide who has spent the last decade building a life around climbing, travel, and community. She started climbing in the Shawangunks in 2012 and has been chasing new places, routes, and experiences around the globe ever since.

As an AMGA-certified Single Pitch Instructor and Rock Guide Apprentice, Genevive loves helping people find their place in climbing, whether that means learning new skills, pushing their limits, or finding people to share the experience with. Through the Global Climbing initiative, she developes educational programming with Climb Malawi, and is the founder of We Camp We Climb, a community that brings climbers of the global majority together to learn, adventure, and spend more time outside. Outside of community work, you'll usually find Genevive chasing steep sport climbs or long splitter cracks. Her endurance shines at Horseshoe Hell, where she has consistently placed first in women's categories, including setting a new records.

Genevive cares deeply about the places and people that make climbing possible. As an Access Fund Ambassador, she is excited to help protect climbing areas while making the sport more accessible, welcoming, and representative of the people who love it.
