Take Action
Dive Deeper
Right now we’re working on three different strategies to protect sustainable Wilderness climbing.
As climbers, fixed anchors are essential pieces of our safety system that allow us to safely and sustainably access vertical terrain. Without fixed anchors, many of the wildest and most inspiring places in America would become inaccessible to the public.
The National Park Service and U.S. Forest Service recently released draft recreation management directives that would overturn decades of precedent.
Park managers listened to the climbing community’s concerns, and the program is better because of it—maximizing flexibility for big wall climbers, just as we requested.
Other ways you can help
We will need all climbers to rally in the coming months to protect Wilderness climbing. There's a long road ahead to get the Protect America’s Rock Climbing Act across the finish line and mitigate threats from these misguided land management plans. Stay tuned for upcoming action alerts, and please consider helping to fund our advocacy efforts.
