The Ohio Climbers Coalition is excited to announce further the development of the Logtown Climbing area! Thanks to Columbiana County Parks District and Western Reserve Conservancy, a new area of the old quarry has been protected for years to come. Work to develop this area with new climbing routes is currently underway, and they are looking for volunteers for a workday on Saturday, October 18th from 10am to 2pm to focus on improving a climber's trail along the bottom of the cliffs.
Volunteers should plan to meet at the Logtown Quarry Climbing Parking Lot at 10am to complete waivers and gather supplies for the workday. The OCC will have some personal protective equipment available for volunteers to use (work gloves, eye protection), but please wear closed toed shoes and clothes that you are comfortable working in. Boots and pants are best. We will also have extra water and snacks to share, but please bring your own water bottle.
After the workday, climbers are encouraged to go out and enjoy some of the climbing at the established climbing areas.
For all Adopt a Crag events, please keep in mind the following:
Wear closed toed shoes. Long sleeves and pants are recommended.
Bring water, snacks, and extra layers for the elements.
Be prepared to be challenged, work hard, and gain sending karma points!
